Fr. Daniel offers seminar on Orthodoxy in Indonesia

While I was in Indonesia in October of this year, I was given many opportunities to share about the Orthodox Faith and to encourage the local, faithful, Orthodox parishes. I’d like to briefly relate one occasion while I was visiting Fr. Antonios of St. Anthony the Great Community in Salatiga, a university town, on Java.

Fr. Antonius has close relationships with all the churches in his area. There are many Dutch Reformed Calvinist churches in Salatiga, as it is their Indonesian headquarters. Fr. Antonios has a good relationship with one of their pastors, who had also heard me speak in the ’90s. The pastor invited me to give a seminar on Orthodoxy and to preach at the Service.

The talk was over 4 hours and covered a vaste array of topics from Church history to Orthodox teaching to the history of Orthodoxy in Indonesia. There were hundreds of people who showed up, and they were amazed at not knowing such important parts of Church history and teaching. I couldn’t end the talk for a long time due to the incredible amount of questions at the end. Thank you again for all of your support.
